Kwik-E-Post - Harry Potter Chops

Here is a Kwik-E-Post as I am too tired to blog much today! Walked from Nagano to Kagurazaka (near Iidabashi), which took about 2hrs. Had a great time there and that deserves another blog post altogether. 

Anyway, here are the HP chops I talked about in my previous post.

Also bought the poster book and a mobile phone strap with symbol of the Deathly Hallows. Yes I am quite the HP otaku myself.

Kwik-E Post - Sakura Cream Frappuccino

In the sakura season, Starbucks has this delicious seasonal drink called 'Sakura Cream Frappuccino'. Hearing the name of the drink makes me salivate!    I assure you, it is as yummy as it sounds!

Kwik-E-Post - Free Hugs in Ikebukuro

Spotted this girl offering free hugs in Ikebukuro while I was there with Thanh Thao. No one paid any attention to her. I wonder how many free hugs she gave out. Now I regret not going up to her to get my free hug! 

Kwik-E-Post - Warning: Please remove your bicycle

Parking your bicycle in Tokyo requires a bit of knowledge. 

Take my town for instance. One of the first things I did when I shifted to my new town, was to look for bicycle parking lots near the train station. My apartment is 20mins walk away from the town center, so having a bike makes travelling and errands-running a breeze. These parking lots require a small fee, usually around 100yen to 200yen for a few hours, and the first 30mins or so is free. If I need to make a quick run to the stores, 30mins is pretty sufficient. 

But some people choose to park their bikes illegally along sides of the roads. There is a certain area surrounding the train station that disallows bikers to park their bikes, other than in the proper parking lots. 

So everyday, a law-enforcement officer goes around noting down the security numbers of the illegally parked bikes and then pasting a big red WARNING sticker on the bikes. If the bike is not removed by the owner by a stipulated time, the town council will remove it and the owner has to pay a fine to claim his bike back. 

And I chanced upon this. 

Still there after repeated warnings! Win liao lor! 

Oh Town Council, remove this bike already!

It got me all excited when I opened it! I kept imagining that a mouse or a hamster wearing a little party hat would jump out and say hi!

Kwik-E-Post - Dog-walking and Apartment-viewing

Hello! I had a busy but fruitful day! Quite sleepy right now, but I vowed to blog at least once a day, so here is a Kwik-E-Post!

Talk about multi-tasking! This lady was cycling, walking 2 dogs and holding on to a big bag of groceries all at the same time. Her leek fell from her shopping bag, which I kindly picked up and returned to her. Her dogs are so cute! She was off her bike at the moment when this photo was snapped, as it was too crowded with people everywhere. 

And I went apartment-viewing today!

I have always dreamt of having my own little apartment in Tokyo and finally this dream is coming true! Here is a recount of all the apartments I have viewed today. I visited 2 real estate agents and viewed 4 apartments.

Apartment no. 1: Too expensive and too small. I know housing is costly in Tokyo, but the first payment is 100,000yen (SGD1,600) more than what I had expected to pay. Plus point: comes with washing machine and dryer.

Apartment no. 2: Pretty room, but the moment I opened the window, I had a rude shock. It was just an arm's length to the roof terrace of the next building! Can you imagine how short the distance is? It means that some weird guy can easily peep into my room, or simply CLIMB OVER! (￣□￣；)

And when I stepped into Apartment no. 3, I knew I was in love and the search was over!

It is so clean and white and sparkly! And it is affordable! The security system is good and there is a nice view from the window. I just felt so comfortable when I was in the room. And it is very near my campus!  

Apartment no. 4: Let's not even talk about it. 4th floor and no elevator. 

The dorm that I am staying in now is not bad and the neighbours are all my friends, but I can't say that it is very comfortable here. I need more space and privacy! I keep bumping into everything in the dorm room. And I get backaches from just washing my face at the basin cos it is so low. =(

Kwik-E-Post - Integrity Sweet Potatoes for Sale!

Hello! Just a quick post before I head out to McDonald's for breakfast. They are selling McGriddles for 100yen! That is like SGD1.60! I love McGriddles! But I don't think they are available in Singapore anymore. Yay for Japanese Mac! Woo!

Very often on the sides of the roads, I will see crates of vegetables or fruits, just placed there with no one looking after. These are actually for sale to anyone, and you can put your money (in this case of sweet potatoes, 100yen) in the can, and take your pick of vegetables! 

I call them 'Integrity Sweet Potatoes'! 

I assume that these veggies are harvested from someone's backyard or something. Or maybe the random little farms that are found in various parts of town. There is a little cabbage patch near my dorm and I often wonder who is looking after it. 

Since there are no one looking after, wouldn't there be people who are tempted to just take the items and run away? I guess it doesn't happen very often, since I still see these crates of veggies and fruits laying around. 

It's all about Integrity!
