Sukiya Beef-Bowl LOVE

When I am often asked what my favourite Japanese food is, without a doubt I will say it's 'Beef-bowl from Sukiya'! 

すき家 (Sukiya) is a popular chain eatery which is famous for its reasonable pricing and delicious 牛丼 (Gyuudon - Beef-bowl).

There are several popular beef-bowl chain eateries in Japan, such as 松屋 (Matsuya) and 吉野家 (Yoshinoya). After trying all of them, I have decided that my favourite is Sukiya.

Everyone loves to eat their gyuudon in different ways. Some eat theirs with lots of red ginger. Some prefer to  drench their gyuudon with various sauce. Others just eat it in its original form without adding anything.

How I like my gyuudon...

 Dig a deep hole into the rice and beef and pour in a well-beaten raw egg. Mix and eat and taste the LOVE. 

Sukiya has several beloved items in their menu other than their signature gyuudon.

3種のチーズ牛丼 - Triple cheese gyuudon. 

Cheesy enough to make a big cheese-lover like me go crazy! 

Pork-bowl for pork-lovers! Pork is soft, sauce is yummy, need I say more? 

Usually during summertime, Sukiya has this special seasonal menu with unagi (eel). Unagi is believed to be able to supply you the energy needed to cope that summer fatigue.

Recent Snacks Loots

Woot! I feel quite accomplished as I had a productive day! 

Let's see...I sent out a parcel full of stuff (mostly manga and clothes) which I do not need till spring next year. Had it shipped back to Singapore by sea, 12kg for 6,000yen. 

Had a yummy beef-bowl at Sukiya for lunch. Sukiya is having this beef-bowl matsuri and all beef-bowls are slashed by 30yen!  I love my Sukiya beef-bowls!

And then I paid my bills at Lawson and studied at Doutor cafe for 2 hours with a cup of marron latte. Bought some house decorations for autumn and headed back home. Even managed to jog for 30 mins and finished watching the last few episodes of Ouran High School Host Club drama series. Before I started writing this blog post, I even squeezed in some ukulele practice! And it's only 8.30pm! Super productive me! 

So, anyway, this post is about my recent snacks loots. I should be a good girl and work harder to control my diet. But a little treat once in a while is ok, right? Hee hee! 

Blueberry yogurt endorsed by Stitch and his gf(?).

Weeee! Caramel coffee flavour Oreo soft cookies. 

The coffee flavour is quite strong and goes great with milk. 

Rilakkuma snacks from Lawson. Yummeh! 

Ate the Rilakkuma cookies-and-cream snack at Doutor. 

Rilakkuma chocolate melon bun! I'm trying to collect stickers which come with Lawson breads. Collect 30 stickers and get a Kiirotori mug!

Back from the Dead and Zakka Pic Spam

Oh hi there! 

Due to personal laziness, my blog has been left to rot silently for the longest time. Heh heh. I feel a bit sheepish about it, but for the past half a year or so, I just couldn't find the spur to update my blog. I guess somehow along the way, I lost direction in my main purpose in Japan and sidetracked to other....stuff. 

But I'm back on track! 

And for the first post for a long time, here is a spam of my recent zakka obsession. 

雑貨 (Zakka) - Random cute and pretty stuff, ranging from stationery to accessories to lifestyle goods that improve the visual quality of your life. 

The recent trend in Japanese zakka seems to be going with the vintage country style. I love this style, especially the collage-scrapbookish designs.  

The Eiffel Tower has always been quite a popular motif in zakka. I wanna go to Paris so bad!
