Halloween Food Special!

Happy Halloween everybody!

Halloween is a big thing in Japan! Just by looking at the amount of special Halloween 'versions' of food, you know that the Japanese are serious!

Here are some photos of Halloween-themed food and snacks that I would like to share! Some are shamelessly shot in supermarkets and departmental stores, some are of items purchased by me. Enjoy!

I love looking at displays on the food floor of departmental stores.

Pumpkin flavoured jellybeans!

Pumpkin pudding. Yummers!

The pumpkins are from Hokkaido!

Koala biscuits and Toppo in Halloween packaging.

And of course my favourite caramel pudding mini kitkats!

I finished two bags of these on my own! Bought a third bag but that is reserved for Grubby when he comes to Tokyo. It's in the fridge now and I try not to think about it too much in case I lose control!

Was at Harajuku today and passed by Takeshita-Dori, which is also famous for its crepes! Takeshita-Dori is said to be the place where Japanese-styled crepes first appeared. Every few steps you take, there is a crepe store!

Ordered my Pumpkin Pumpkin Crepe.
Pumpkin pudding, pumpkin ice-cream, pudding-caramel sauce and fresh whipped cream, all wrapped in one heavenly goodness. The one that is sold out is the pumpkin creme brulee, which I really wanted to try. It's alright, I have next year! Teehee!

Staff making my crepe.

The pumpkin pudding is so soft and sweet! I love it!

Accidentally chewed off a corner of the wrapper. Damn! Happy Halloween!

BBQ Party, Haircut and Loot-of-the-Day

The weather was not as bad as I thought it would be. It was just rain and strong wind, but not that scary. And according to the weather forecast, there will be no rain tomorrow! Yay! I can go out!

There was a BBQ party at our dorm today organised by the neighbourhood International Association. Great food, great company!

Meat party!

There was 焼きそば (yakisoba - fried noodles) too!

And I braved the rain to get a haircut! My fringe was way too long, poking my eyes and making me blind.  It was so uncomfortable! And my ends are damaged and dry...I felt like !!! Haha!

New haircut!  I can see now!
The stylist played around a bit with curling iron and I like the effect on my hair!

And loot of the day!
Popped by Matsukiyo for a quick beauty supply stock-up!

Ok, homework time!

Quick Update!

Quick update on my daily life! School days have been good! My earliest lesson starts at 10.30am, so I could sleep till at least 9.30am everyday! But usually I wake up a bit earlier to revise my school work cos I am a good student.  And also because I am the weakest one in my Japanese class!  I want to quickly improve and excel at it!

And I got the key to my new apartment! Yay!  I can't wait to move in soon but there is a lot of stuff to be done and it will take up some time. First of all, I need to get the essential furniture and electronic items such as a bed, curtains, fridge, washing machine and lights! And I have to get the internet connection set up, but before that I have to call the utilities company. Oh so many chores to be completed! But I am very much looking forward to it all!

Here's what I did today!

Had early breakfast at Makku and watched the world go by.

久しぶりのカラオケ!
Met my girlfriend for morning karaoke before going to school! It was so cheap, 600yen for 2.5 hrs!

My little electronic dictionary broke down and I need a new one desperately! I could only rely on google translate when I do my homework and that is very inefficient! I am hoping to get a good one real soon, but...

...it's gonna cost me!

Please pardon my excessive use of 絵文字 for this post. I just found a fantastic website that features many cute emonji (emoticons) such as these  and I can't wait to use them!

Goodnight!

Rainy Day and Recent Loots

It rained for the whole of yesterday and it was so depressing! And there is a typhoon alert for the weekend! I hope Typhoon Chaba (yes that's its name, cute huh?) does not stay in Tokyo for long, but there will definitely be a lot of rain and wind. So I am just going to stay at the dorm to be safe!

It is getting colder as November approaches, and my flimsy Converse jacket just won't do! So I ran to the stores yesterday to get myself a new coat.

A Military Jacket!

I have always wanted a military jacket, after seeing it appeared thousands of times in magazines, and it never seems to go out of style! I was very much convinced that I should get one after reading these magazine spreads.

Featured in Steady Nov 2010.

A spread in Sweet Nov 2010.

I am very pleased with my purchase! It keeps me warm and goes great with any clothes! And it is waterproof! Speaking of waterproofing...

Wellington boots and my new brolly.

Don't you love my new brolly????  I know! I LOVE IT TOO! And I am so glad I brought the wellington boots with me to Tokyo. I bought them from Fossil in USA. The owls are just too cute!

Thinking that I might be stuck in the dorm for the entire weekend, I rushed to the supermarket after school today to get food supplies!

Bread, instant udon and snacks! I am going to survive on these! And I have my yucky 'Green Juice' from Fancl as veggies substitutes!

Popped by the Rilakkuma store at coppice to get my collagen supplements. I was reminiscing how I queued for 2 hours just to get into the store when it first opened and now I could just breeze in like I own the place!

\
Collagen and Rilakkuma RE-MENT series.

The people at RE-MENT are geniuses! No Rilakkuma fan can resist these!

And I got a super big shopping bag today!

This forest seems to be very delicious.
Hahaha.

Other side.

And there was a flyer inside the shopping bag to advertise new prizes for UFO catchers.
I suck at UFO catchers, so I don't ever bother at all!

Happy with my loot! Haha!
